Mechanical Harvesting
TimberTech proudly offers both CTL (Cut-to-Length) and Tree Length harvesting solutions specifically designed for Pine and eucalyptus species. Our approach utilizes advanced, purpose-built equipment to ensure that maximum productivity and safety standards are consistently adhered to throughout the harvesting process. Additionally, TimberTech provides steep slope winch assist capabilities, enabling efficient harvesting and shoveling operations even in challenging and difficult terrain conditions.
Timber Extraction
TimberTech's primary extraction process effectively utilises specially designed forwarders or skidders to extract cut timber or tree lengths from the forest to the roadside. This essential operation ensures that the timber is promptly stacked, loaded, or further processed, thereby facilitating efficient supply chain management and maintaining sustainability in forestry practices.
Short Haul
TimberTech's secondary extraction short haul to the depot is efficiently performed using long-range self-loading forwarders, which are ideal for lead distances of up to 5 kilometers or for managing smaller volume contract requirements. For transporting timber over longer leads or in full off-road applications, TimberTech employs robust 40-ton Western Star haulers to effectively move timber from the roadside to the depot. Additionally, for those situations requiring longer leads that must adhere to road legal restrictions, TimberTech utilizes 6x6 trucks equipped with tag trailers.
Loading/Offloading
TimberTech proudly offers an extensive range of loading solutions tailored for every conceivable application. Our inventory includes versatile equipment, ranging from compact 3-wheel bell loggers to powerful 20-ton tracked and wheeled loaders, as well as robust 30-ton tree-length tracked excavators. To meet diverse volume requirements and specific applications, we employ a variety of specialized grab attachments. Notably, some of our larger excavators are equipped with 1.2-cube grapples that have the impressive capacity to effortlessly lift up to 6 tons per grab, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in every task.

Mill Timber Handling
TimberTech also offers a comprehensive range of mill offloading and handling equipment suitable for any size log or processing application. This essential process can be effectively accomplished using wheeled loggers, pay loaders, or excavators, ensuring versatility and efficiency. Furthermore, we understand that every mill has unique specifications and requirements that we are always fully prepared to meet with our tailored solutions.

Long haul
Whilst harvesting is where we originally started our journey, trucks have always been a deep-rooted passion of ours. At TLS, we have truly redefined the capacities and capabilities of timber transport across the vast landscape of KZN. As it currently stands, we operate the longest and heaviest road-legal road trains in the continent, boasting an impressive gross vehicle mass of 112,700 kilograms. Our offerings range from tree-length stinger steers to standard four-axle rigid drawbars, and everything in between. Additionally, we take great pride in being the very first company to develop and run a six-axle rigid drawbar with a remarkable gross weight capacity of 73,500 kilograms
